This Friday, October 21, we will be having a club assembly meeting. The meeting will focus on club-wide orientation. Marty Petrusek will lead the club. Whether you are a relatively new member, or have been around a while, you are sure to learn a thing or two about Rotary, and our club in particular (unless you are Dick Weiland.) “Tuesday, January 25, several of our club members visited the Midtown
Rotary Club at the University Club where we all shared our personal
experiences with Rotary and some of its programs of service. In spite of
the fall snow, the room was full -what a beautiful setting with choices
of soft drinks or wine and yummy snacks. I was glad that we could
experience a different format for a new Rotary club.

On Friday, March 18, 2011, Deborah Clubb (not pictured), executive director of the Memphis Area Women’s Council, will be our featured speaker. The MAWC is a non-profit organization that aims to connect research with activists, in order to change policies and practices that limit the success of women and girls.
According to their website, they have been involved with the following initiatives:
Ending corporal punishment in city schools.
Securing a living wage for Memphis and Shelby county employees.
